How AppToBot works
AppToBot tracks real cases where an AI agent or automation replaced an app, a subscription or a manual habit, and compares the two honestly.
What counts as a recipe
A working setup someone published: a forum post, GitHub repo, workflow template, vendor case study or write-up. No public source, no listing.
How we build each comparison
We read the source and record the old app, the bot stack, monthly cost before and after, setup time, time saved, skill level, maintenance and privacy considerations, pros, cons and steps. When the source doesn't state something, we write Not reported. Figures are labeled “per author” or “vendor claim” because they come from the source, not our own tests.
Reliability ratings (1–5)
- 5: long-running use by many people, with safeguards.
- 4: months of reported use, or human-review built in.
- 3: a published template or write-up with no long-term data.
- 2: single report, fragile (scraping, anti-bot), or self-maintained code.
- 1: worked in testing but slow or shaky.
Ratings are an editorial read of the evidence, not lab testing.

Upkeep
We re-check sources regularly and remove entries whose sources disappear. Spot an error? Tell us.
