Competitor pricing-page change alerts
Every day at 08:00 it fetches each competitor pricing page, compares visible text with the last snapshot in Google Sheets, and if it changed has OpenAI write 1-3 bullets about what matters, then posts to Slack.
App vs bot, side by side
| Old app / habit | Bot | |
|---|---|---|
| Tool | Visualping-style monitors or checking competitor sites by hand | n8n schedule + HTTP fetch + Sheets snapshots + OpenAI + Slack |
| Monthly cost | Not reported | Not reported (OpenAI called only when a page changes) |
| Setup | None (already in use) | Not reported · Beginner |
| Your time | Baseline | Not reported |
| Maintenance | Handled by vendor/you as before | Update URL list and 'watchFor' text; JS-heavy pages may need a scraper. |
| Privacy | Data stays with the app vendor | Public competitor pages only; summaries go to OpenAI and Slack. |
